Sinulog Festival is the grandest festival in the Philippines. A lot of people, especially Cebuanos are looking forward for this. The festival is held on the third Sunday of January.

We celebrate this festival honoring Seรฑor Santo Niรฑo or the Child Jesus.
Seรฑor Santo Niรฑo is a baptismal gift from Ferdinand Magellan a Portuguese explorer. Seรฑor Santo Niรฑo is believed to be miraculous (I am one of those believer) and his image is housed at Basilica Minore del Santo Niรฑo in Cebu City.

But the festival is not the only thing we Cebuanos look forward to every year, it is The Sinulog Novena Masses. It is the most important activity throughout the whole celebration. The Sinulog Novena starts 10 days before the actual Sinulog Festival. The best moment about the Novena Masses is the singing of the Song โBato Balani sa Gugmaโ it is when the people wave their hands in the air while singing. It is the most heart-warming moment especially when you are there experiencing and witnessing it.
The devotion of Filipinos are undeniably indestructible. Not even the weather can stop us from our faith. It only shows us that we can stand as one and we are committed to what we believe in.
